Accessory Power
I have a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country. My Power Steering is making a "whirring" sound at extreme temps.
The sound is made when it is very cold outside, and it is also made when it is hot outside. When the temp is regular, 50-75, I don't get the noise. I tried it with the A/C both on and off, as I understnad the accessory belt powers both things. I have checked my fluid, and it is good. I really don't want to take my car in and blow a bunch of money unless I need to. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately I don't think there is going to be anything you can do about it. That has been a common problem in a large number of Chrysler minivans from about 2002 to 2005.
I don't know how long you've had your van but there have been a couple of recalls addressing this issue. If you do not know if they've been done, you can call your local dealer and give them the last 8 digits of your vehicle identification number along with your mileage and they can tell you if the recalls have been done to your van.
I think both of the recalls require changing the power steering hoses. However, even after the recall has been done, there is sometimes still some noise. At one time we were adding some gear oil made by Lucas in order to try and quiet them down.

i have the means and the know how i just want to make sure the battery will be alright and charged at the same rate as the main battery and also if this battery runs down will it drain the main battery
connect your inverter thru a continuos duty soleniod that turns on with the key and you wont have problems with dead batteries,other wise it will work fine
