OBD Light: '00 Audi A6 4.2L?
'00 A6 4.2L V8. Car has 84xxx mi; OBD Light turned on today while driving, won't shut off (is wasn't blinking), decreased HP. Bought the car yesterday and filled up the tank (was very low) with OCT-87... Now I found out I should have used OCT-91. Is the OBD light & decreased HP caused from poor gas quality? Something else? Moreover, should I siphon the gas out & re-fill with premium? AhhhH!!!
OBD or check engine light? The octane wouldn't do that.
The guy you bought it from turned it off and it takes four runs to come back on. You got scammed!
Only run high octane from shell if possible but a 1 time deal wion't cause lights.
You can get a quick free csan at any auto store but the only way to read all of the codes is with a VAG-COM from www.ross-tech.com.

truley the 4.2 is there best engine. pretty rock solid you just need to do all of the maintenance the last lazy a$$ owner siad he did but lied about.

Audi TT dash indicator question?
My friend tells me his 2001 TT has a dash light staying on after engine start (engine electrical). Can anyone point me in the right direction to trouble shoot and also tell me what type of OBD the car has it's an 1800cc . thanks
