Badge Belt Clip
What would you do with unwanted cub scout items?
My son was in cub scouts for a short time about 10 years ago. Someone on freecycle posted that they would like cub/wolf scout items. I still have two of the scarves, the metal tie thinig for the scarves, the belt, 15 of the little metal "badges" that clip on the belt with certain accomplishments printed on them and about 10 patches. I would be happy to give these items to that person but, these are things that the child must earn so I don't think it would do her much good. Normally I save that kind of stuff but, I have WAY too many saved sentimental items as it is! For example, my kid's baby books are so full - I couldn't possibly put one more thing in there. I hate to just throw them away though. What would you do with them? P.S. I have no idea what category to put this in so I apologize if it is in the wrong one.
i would look for a local scout troop or scout headquarters in you area. Look in the phone book for the boy scout headquarters. Call them and tell them you would like to donate these items. Believe it or not there are troops and scout leaders who collect these items from the past. Some of the items you have may still be used but some are not. I gave my sons' scout items to a local troop and they love it. They made a time capsule with old and new scout items for the future. good luck.

Does the U.S. Department of Homeland Security specify where employees in private warehouses wear their badges?
Is it true that the U.S. federal Department of Homeland Security now requires private sector employers to require their employees (in a warehouse storing consumer goods that belong to the company, not federal property or anything of a sensitive or national security nature) to wear their employee ID badges on their arms (in a pouch that fits over their shirtsleeves), and not on their belts, around their necks, clipped to a shirt collar, etc. Please note that I am not asking whether an employer is free to impose such a requirement on its employees. I am asking only whether such a requirement was imposed by the Department of Homeland Security, or whether any employer with this requirement voluntarily imposed the requirement on its employees.
Homeland security has no say is such a completely private, not security related location. That is the company's choice.
