Band Certified
Are certified letters usually full of band news?
Used most often for legal correspondence, where the law requires a reasonable attempt to notify someone of a pending action.
Certified letters are used as a method to track delivery where it is important to collect the signature of the person accepting the letter, or to document a reasonable attempt at delivery.
The certified letter process documents either the reciept or three attempts, and courts typically accept that documentation as fullfilling the requirements.
Usually bad news: Unfortunately yes. Good news is usually done with UPS, FedEX or DHL.
PS: The bad news doesn't go away if you don't accept the letter, nor does it delay the pending action. While the sender would often prefer that you respond, they have probably already decided what will happen when you don't.
