Band Cobra Radar How to make my radar detector work better?
Ok, I have a radar detector. Ive read many reviews on the one I have and all Ive seen is bad reviews. Ive used it and it doesnt pick up police radar far enough away to be useful. Itll catch it about 100 yards away which isnt very useful when doing 55 or 60 MPH. The only 2 times Ive used it, it was just sitting on the dash...Is there any way to make it work any better? Maybe sit it up higher on the dash, or in the windshield... IDK. Its the Cobra Band 9 ESD 7400 if that helps any. Thanks guys!
Best method ever found to work 100 % is to not speed. Sorry about your luck, but if you need to speed then be prepared to pay for it.

why does my radar detector go off when there is nothing around?
ill admit i dont have an awesome device. its a $50 cobra 9 band from walmart. but it picks up ALOT of x band. what uses x band these days? i dont think cops use that any more. i also pick up k/ka band, which i believe is what cops use for radar, and there is nothing around. what else could cause the detector to pick this up?
Any of the above are correct but find a supermarket with an automatic door opener and drive toward it with your detector on and the automatic door opener should make your radar detector alert, this way you know if its working.................
