Band Ultra Performance
What is wrong with my preamp?
Okay,
I have a Peavey Ultra 60 Vacuum Tube Amplifier that was built in the mid80's.
I while ago my band was playing a show and I decided to be a dumb ass and turn all the pots up to max which would be all the volume pots, voicing, and equalizer pots.
The amp worked well during that performance, but after it stopped working.
The amp has to power switches: a standard power switch w/ a red LED and a standby switch with a green LED.
Now whenever I plug in the amp and turn on the power switch and the standby switch, the standby's green LED will not light up and no sound will come out of the cab it's hooked up to.
So I'm guessing something must have broken/fried inside the Peavey's preamp. My only guess is either some sort of fuse burnt out inside the amp, or the standby switch and LED is broken; hence no power is being supplied to the rest of the circuit in the preamp.
Any suggestions before I take this to a professional?
The standby switch supplies power for the high voltage of the valves so you must check the fuse of the HV circuit,as you said the switch,the fuse of the main transformer,if the valves are properly inserted in slots,etc!
