Baseball Pitch
I need some help learning a new pitch for baseball?
Well, our baseball team is in a great slump since we only won 2 out of 5 games. We always seem to lose when our starting pitcher is at his limit and we put in another pitcher who gets us 7-run-ruled. My coach asked me to try learning some pitches by our next game and to see if I am able to be a relief pitcher or something.
I am basically asking if you know anywhere where I can get step by step directions on how to throw any new pitch.

How to Pitch a Baseball : Full Wind Up for Baseball Pitching
Longer stride make you pitch faster in baseball?
If you take a longerstride when you pitch in baseball, will it make you pitch faster?I am 14 and throw about 65 MPH. I want to know if a longer stride could boost my MPH to the 70's?
A longer stride can help increase velocity but there is a big risk. A long stride is usually obtained by exploded off your back leg. This tends to throw the hips open rapidly and increases velocity, but this puts tremendous strain on the arm especially the elbow. When the hips open violently the arm has to play catch-up. If the hips open before the arm goes forward the elbow is severely strained. This also causes you to miss up and in. It also makes it difficult to get on top of your curveball (which at 14 you should not be throwing). Pedro Martinez is a classic explosive long-strider. He has tremendous stuff for a guy his size but he cant stay healthy. I believe in a controlled-fall theory of pitching. I believe the hips and arms should go forward together. You can try long striding and see if it works for you, but make sure your arm doesn't lag behind. Good luck.
