Battery Hydrometer
Forklift batteries? how do i know if they need replacing?
thinking of buying this old electric forklift, the thing works fine so far and has had a charge as well as the cells having a hydrometer test. The cells however hardly go into the white area which concerns me a bit. I know the cost of new ones but will these ones do for a truck that does an hour a day at the most?
The only way to tell is to see if it lasts the course of what you want it to do. I'm guessing you don't want to replace cells unncessarily so as long as it keeps on it'll do fine. Could last for a long time like that, or it could pack in tomorrow.

When Charging up a battery that has Discharged a lot, i let it charge up 99% 2 Amps.. Then Discharge HOW Much?
Before i Charge it up 2 Amps again?
... I dont have a Desulfator, though i think im going to get one.. Maybe even "Replenish the Battery Acid," MAYBE... If i get a Hydrometer, as i have "No Idea" where the Acid in there is at.
But for now.. its charging at 2 Amps, taking a nice long time to charge. Im about to check it, it May be at 50% or 75% on my Charger (It will say "Complete" if i leave it..
.. Then do I: 1) Let it Sit vernight, THEN Discharge it to around 40% (Is that how low i discharge it,) THEN Charge it up Full again on 2 Amps?
Im going tio have to do ths again when i get the Desulfator, and MAYBE re-do the Acid (Hydrometer).. But What is this procedure to Really "Cycel Charge" a Battery that had a Low state of Charge?

I agree with Motorhead, you do not need to discharge your battery once it is charged.
A good battery charger will put in high amps to begin with, and then taper off as the battery becomes charged, until it is fully charged.
If the battery will not hold a charge, then you need to get a new one.
2 amps are good for overnight, long charging, because the current is low.
I think only the batteries in radios, computers etc., benefit from cycling, but the lead acid batteries of automobiles do not.
