Board Black Vinyl
Would gray marine vinyl make a good projection screen?
went down to Joanne Fabrics to look for this mythical blackout cloth that I have read about... No one around me seems to have it in stock.
I really do not want to paint a board an hang it because of the weight and painting is not an option which is why I was looking for black out cloth
While I was there I came across some gray marine vinyl... It me to wondering... Would this make a good screen surface.
It is already grey.. maybe a tad darker than Behr SS, but appears perfectly neutral gray. There is a texture to it but I could not notice it standing more than oh 6-7 ft back.
has anyone else ever used this... I wanted to do some research first as it was $10 a yard. I am pretty cheap.
I was also thinking that it would be really easy to clean if necessary as well.
The only concern that I would have it if it hotspotted... I think.

Can I seal the quarter round molding with caulk?
Hello, in my dining room I have vinyl flooring (actually looks like rich looking tile, everyone is fooled who visits) Anyway, there is a small gap between the floor and the quarter round molding that is up against the base board. I am wondering if it is ok if I sealed this gap with caulk, because I always see those black centipede crawler bugs (which I knew what they are since I see them in every house) sliding underneath it. Thanks.
I have caulking tools I can make a perfect seam all around that is not even noticeable.
If it is a small gap, then yes, you can use caulk to seal it. Dap tub & tile caulk is a good choice for this type of project. Don't get the caulk wet for 24 hours.
If the gap is 1/4" or so, you should really think about reworking the trim.
Caulk can be bought in a variety of colors, or clear - something to think about when you go to purchase it. If your trim is painted, or stained a dark finish, you may want to get a caulk that will match it. Or you might choose to match the 'grout' color in the flooring.
