Camera Shy
I am dreadfully camera shy but i want to model! NEED CONFIDENCE!?
For the past few months i have been considering modelling! In the past i had been asked by many agencies but i always turned them down because i either wasn't interested or i thought i was too shy!
Now, i really want to try it out BUT unfortunately i am really camera shy. As soon as someone puts a camera to my face i get nervous!
I think my problem is that i think too much about what people are thinking about me! I NEED THIS TO STOP!! I feel like my shyness is taking over me and i can't do the things i really wanna do!!
I have been thinking about maybe going to a psychologist to help me gain confidence but i don't know if that would help!
Any tips on how to over come this problems?? Any strategies on how to boost self confidence or just confidence all together!!? Please!! I need some help!

The good news is that a lot of models are camera-shy at first! Being self-conscious is part of the reason they are so meticulous about their appearance. But you are correct in realizing when it gets to be a problem. Think about this: When you go into a large store, are you thinking about how everyone looks? Are you criticizing everything everyone wears, their face, their eyelashes, the shape of their ears? No. Not unless you really are nuts. You see thousands of people every time you go out. And THOUSANDS of people see you every time you go out. The camera is no different. Some girls have told me that they pretend the camera is their boyfriend's face. It helps them be confident and give a genuine smile.

How can i make my banded gourami (Colista fasciata) less camera shy?
Some fish will always be shy of the big shiny thing you're pointing at them - as far as they're concerned that big shiny thing might be another fish that's going to eat them.
My best recommendation would be to have the camera on a tripod near the tank and leave it be for sometime so the fish become accustomed to it. Not using flash and using a well lit tank from above as well as a fast shutter speed is recommended. Slow movements and a ton of patience are most definitely necessary.
Many of those very crisp well lit close-up photos you see are taken with cameras with a very fast shutter speed on a tripod (or a very steady hand) as well as one or two slave flashes above the tank (rested on glass on an open tank. Slave flashes are remotely attached to the camera so you can move them about.
