1st Combat Camera Squadron
If a 35mm SLR camera has a hot shoe for a flash unit, can any flash unit be used?
i.e. minolta SLR... vivitar flash unit or something like that.
A few of the Minolta's made had a smaller foot print and required a different sized flash. Adapters are available so that you can use a regular flash with it. (See post above)Look at the shoe.,if it has one large and three small silver dots it is fine for regular flashes. If it has a narrow shoe and four small dots it need the special sized flash.
Edited: Edwin is incorrect, I have a Minolta HTsi sitting in my hands right now that has a smaller hot shoe. It is a 35mm camera, not digital. My Maxxum 5000 and 7000's have the normal hot shoe.
