Are self-storage units secure for storing firearms?
I just moved out of state and I've been staying at an apartment, turns out the lease doesn't allow me to keep firearms in the home and rather than risk breaking my lease, I've thought about getting a climate controlled storage facility. The facility has gate access which requires a pin to enter, and numerous video cameras around the facility, the climate controlled units are inside. Would this be a bad idea? Somehow I don't think storing them in my trunk is any better.
Can your lease legally say that? You are renting a home, and American citizens are generally allowed to keep firearms in their home.
