Camouflage Utility
What kind of pattern do Marines use nowadays as far as camouflage?
Well, it all started off when I bought a utility cover from the local Military surplus store, and it was apparently 'Army digital', so I got bashed on by all my USMC DEP friends...I was told Marines use Digital Woodland MARPAT, is that true? Because I'm looking at a boonie hat and want to get the right one for paintball/other combat games with my friends.
For all who wonder, yes, I'm a wannabe Marine, I'm only 16, but I still just want the right patterned hat is all.

The digital pattern the marines use is copyrighted to them. If you look close you'll see the globe and anchor embedded in the pattern.
Most of the stuff sold at Military Surplus stores is counterfeit patterns anyways, even the Army. The shades of green aren't right. Plus none of the clothing purchased by the Army or Marines is made in china, so if your buddies is using some cheep knockoffs then get them for that.

Do you think this could be true??USMC uniforms??
Do you think any of the following is true as to why the Marine Corps wanted new camouflage uniforms ??? Does the enemy really fear Marines more than they do other branches of the Armed Forces??
Most recently, Iraqis in the Persian Gulf War and 2003 invasion of Iraq were
said to have taken special note of Marine Cobra helicopters and the distinctive
look of the Marine combat uniform. The Marines have taken steps to build on this
psychological advantage by, for instance, developing a new utility uniform that
makes Marines easier to distinguish from other US servicemen

I don't belive so! The reason for the uniform is the natural look it has. I mean look at normal camo next to digital camo (the new marine uniform). The digital looks more professional. And out of all the branches I believe the Marines are most professional. As most of us know, the Marines are put in a country. They get the job done and return home. We then station the Army there to do all the light work and come back and have to clean up there messes all the time. I'm not sayng the Army is bad. They all do their fair share of protecting this country. As for the enemy fearing the Marines more than other branches of service, THEY SHOULD! Marines are trained to fight for their country in a way the Army doesn't. Look at basic training for example. USMC Boot Camp is 13 weeks long where it is all physical, strength and endurance and as for the Army, they have stress cards. If they dont feel good they present the drill seargant with the card and they ease up on them or send them back to the barracks. What is going to happen in war situations? Is a "Soldier" (referring to the army) going to give a roadside bomber in iraq a card that says "take it easy on me today, I got a headache"? I would say NO! The Marines is by far the strongest, toughest, best & most reliable & succesful branch there is!
