Can pulling Car Fuses Cause Engine Light Problem?
I pulled out the 15V Fuse from the ignition coil to put it into my cigarette lighter Fuse ..because the cigarette Fuse has been blown..(doing this to experiment to see if any of my wires are burned)
After i put the fuse back into its original places with a fuse replacement for the cigarette fuse.. the Check Engine Light came on..
I brought the car to the Mechanic to have my Engine Light read .. it turn out i have 4 code error.. The Mechanic is saying it will cost me ALOT of money to have them fix.. one of the code was the Ignition Coil error.. so i know its my fault..
what should i do with this so i can save some money..?
pulling the fuse to the coil creates an open cct to the coil, this will trigger the engine light due to the coil losing power. if you find the vehicle is not really having drivability issues like misfires or lack of power. then you should be ok. the mil light turns on for emissions related reasons.
btw if you take off both battery cables and touch them together for approx 30 seconds this will clear the light by resetting the computer. this trick is dependant on vehicle make and security systems.

How much would it cost to for the work needed on my caddy?
The front bumper is cracked on one side and almost coming off, also, the coil behind the bumper that collapses after an impact needs to be replaced.
The electronic window controls for the front and rear driver side have stopped working as well.
And finally, the cigarette lighter has either shorted or a piece of it has come out. I had one of those CD players that plug in to it, and a piece of the power adapter broke off inside it...after some careful fidgeting, I got it out, but the plug-in no longer works. Tried to use the actual lighter part, and it didn't heat up...so I assume it's broken?
Anyway, an guesses of how much time and/or money it will take to have these fixed would be appreciated since I can't seem to find anyone in the area who will give me a cheap estimate.
