Cigeratte Plug
Does xm satellite radio have to be plugged into your cigarette lighter in the car?
My cigeratte lighter outlet does not work in my car and i was wondering how they really work before i got one it is the Delphi Roady XT satellite Radio, it comes with a cassette audio adapter i was wondering if it could just work through that
No it has to be plugged into your cigarette light to have power, the cassette just enables the player to work through your speakers.

Installing a Regular DVD Player in My Conversion Van?
I am attempting to install a household mini dvd player in my conversion van, But i am still wanting to keep the factory VCR it came with and TV.
I started off by buying a 150 watt power inverter that had a cigeratte lighter and a regular outlet in it, everything worked fine but i was getting static on the screen. Now my next question is, What if I cut off the plug on the household dvd player and put a cigeratte lighter attachment on it. and then where the vcr player connects into the cigerette lighter i use a cigeratte lighter that has two outlets on it, would this be sufficent or do i need to do something different please help me.

The static is from the inverter so you have to buy a static filter for the inverter outlet and use the chassis of the car as ground connection.Be carefully with the double cigarette lighter connector because the inverter draws a big amount of current when it works.It is better to connect it to the battery with a fuse and put a switch for power it on!
