Clear Plastic Car
How to remove plastic cover that came with my headlights?
I installed my headlights in my car but I forgot to take off the plastic cover. The plastic is just like plastic wrap that they sell at a grocery store. Now the heat in this summer caused the plastic cover to get stuck to the headlights and I can't remove it. What can I do? I don't wanna use thinner to remove it because it might damage the headlights since they are made out of plastic I believe. They are clear. I bought them for a mitsubishi eclipse 2000.
Any suggestions are welcomed
diesel will take it off without hurting the plastic, or alcohol.

Whats the best brand of primer and clear coat for automotive plastic?
I cant find many reviews online, i am planning on painting some of my plastic trim to match my car color (figured id buy the primer and clear coat separately and save some money). Any guys have any luck with a particular brand, or recommendations from work? even a link would be appreciated.

and i know the process for cleaning and priming it. thanks though, its raw plastic. i wanted a suggestion on which brands to use.
It depends on the plastic. Is it a raw plastic that has the color injected in it or is it already painted? If it is painted, a simple light sanding and repaint will work. If it is raw plastic, many steps need to be taken for paint to adhere. First the parts need to be washed with soap and water, sanded with a scotch brite and Comet, washed again, cleaned with a wax and grease remover, primed with a plastic adhesion promoter, then primed with a couple light coats, then painted.
