Code Reader Obdii
My ABS Light stays on in 2001 F250 Super Duty. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
I replaced the ABS Speed Sensor on the rear end. I also have new brakes; so I know its not them. I unhooked the batteries; still stays on. The light comes on; goes off briefly and comes back on and stays on. Would a OBDII code reader diagnoze the problem
To properly pinpoint the cause of the problem would require use of a scan tool that can communicate with the ABS module. As pointed out by Ironhand, attempting to retrieve the DTC from an OBD II code reader will not suffice. Does your speedometer work? If so, that eliminates the rear speed sensor that you've already replaced, as well as a poor main ground connection to the ABS module near left side headlight assembly. As others have posted, either front wheel speed sensors, or the module and/or HCU assembly are other possibilities. But you need to retrieve the Cxxxx code before you can proceed further. Hope this helps.

One of the most exciting improvements in the automotive industry was the addition of the OBD (On Board Diagnostics). It is the computer that activates the vehicle's "CHECK ENGINE" light. OBD1 (OBD I) was designed to monitor manufacture-specific systems on cars from 1981 to 1995. Dimming Lights on 2000 Pontiac Grand Am?
I have 2000 Grand Am V6. Every time I press the brake pedal, or use the electric windows, my headlights and all my instrument lights dim. They never used to dim before. Recently they started to dim ever so little, and over time the amount of dimming is increasing.
I put in a brand new alternator, new battery, I have cleaned every contact cable I managed to put my hands on, and no luck. I also ran OBDII code reader/scanner and no problem codes found.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
You have a short somewhere...follow your ground wire from the battery and tighten up ...also you could have a bad fusible link...by the battery area...or a bad fuse box...also a bad wire from the battery to the fuse box....it could cause a fire....check ASAP....
