How do I catch an exception with scanner in Java?
I'm writing a program and want to have the user input the arbitrary value for the side of a Dodecahedron. I got it to run alright but there is one problem. If the user enters a char, the program terminates and shows errors. I would rather the program continue to run but ask the user to enter a numeric value. I will post the code for the input but I can't post the whole program.
System.out.print("Enter the value of side a = ");

Scanner aInput = new Scanner(System.in);

from there I would like catch when a user enters say a 'w' and print out an error message asking the user to enter a numeric value. Everything I have googled has been far more complex then this problem and is not helping me understand the concept of try or catch.
