What's the point of having a 14 bit camera sensor when jpegs are only 8 bits of color?
I have a Canon 40D camera and I think it's great. One of the selling points is that it boasts a 14 bit CMOS sensor. However, once you save the photos on a JPEG, most of the color detail is lost. Why do they make 14 bit sensors when the most common file type is only 8 bit? How can I best utilize the 14 bit sensor to to take the best photos possible and preserve all of the bit data? Thanks!!!
PS: I shoot in RAW, but when I save, I save in JPEG. Should I convert the files to TIFF for better picture quality?
tiff is for print output, jpeg is for digital output, in reality your should save in both formats,
if you have to save in just one make it tiff incase you want to print later on

probably will but not real good might lag quite a bit to just a lil.integrated graphics suck, cuz they use up ur memory if u had 2 gigs, i would run way smoother
