Compass Detector Metal detectors in school - just another attempt to make citizens 'compliant' with the states wishes?
Has any one actually released stats on how many incidents there are of children taking knives to school and then using them inappropriately?
The few (in school) incidents I have heard of used school property (craft knives, pairs of compasses etc).
Nationally about 7% of violent crime involves knives, about the same proportion that use a 'blunt object' and about the same proportion that use bottles or glass.
Seems to me this idea is just to give the impression that the government is 'doing something' and to oppress children a little bit more so they can be more easily manipulated by the state when they are older.
My daughter is a teacher in London and she has told me that she has seen knives and other weapons in school. School is just not an appropriate place for weaponry of any kind. You are there with an opportunity to better yourself and to learn how to be of service to your community not to fight or quarrel. Any kind of violence or threat of violence should not be tolerated and the school is right to make every effort to secure the environment as a place for learning, not offering violence.

Nancy Drew Seven Ships Game Help- Metal Detector and Oxygen?
Hello I have been playing this nancy drew game and having some troubles. First off, I couldn't get the metal detector after I gave johnny his compass and he gave me it. It wouldn't check off on my checklist. Well finally the metal detector started working but when I went to dive I ran out of oxygen and died. I've watched and read a lot of walkthroughs but its not helping. They say to go back to closet in resort to get more but that doesn't work either. What can I do to continue the game?
Don't worry about the checklist--sometimes it does funky things.
If you want to refill your oxygen tank, go back to the closet in the resort where you got it...you should be able to place the oxygen tank back where it came from and push a button (I think it's red) to refill it.
It may help for you to write down the underwater puzzle, solve it on paper (when you're not underwater) and then implement it underwater...it will save you some trips.
Another think you can try: I've heard something about a glitch in the game where, when underwater, you can simply click on your oxygen tank--rather, the image of it on the top of the screen--when you're running out and it will give you either more or an unlimited supply. Worth a shot, anyway.
