Conditioning Manifold
What is wrong with the air conditioning in my 1996 Cadillac Eldorado?
I have a 1996 Cadillac Eldorado, and it looks like the outside casing on the air conditioning is breaking off in pieces. It's like the plastic dried out. Now I think one of the broken pieces fell onto the intake manifold and started to melt, causing an awful burning smell. What can I do to fix the problem?
Is there a specific name for the casing so I can order another one?
The need to replace the entire compressor not just the casing.

Air-conditioning Short Course
Chevy 305 has miss do not know how to pin point problem.?
I have a 1997 chevy 305 Vortec in my silverado, with 197,000 miles. It is in exellent condition and very clean. I developed a water leak at the bonnet manifold, replaced all gaskets and replaced plug wires and rotor. I have now developed a miss on # 2 plug, can anyone tell me how to test the injector to see if its getting fuel? Thanks
First check all plug wires with a timing light. With the engine at an idle, clip the timing light on each plug wire - no misses or double flashes. If you encounter one of the previously mentioned symptom, remove the cap & inspect. You had mentioned a water leak at the rear of the engine, water on the distributor will migrate either inside (condensate) of under a wire boot. If all seems OK then replace the spark plug & recheck. If still a problem then replace the rest of the spark plugs, cap, rotor, & spark plug wires.
