When will I get my ex's tax offset for back child support?
I live in Ohio, not on any assistance. My ex is single- UNmarried! He filed at the end of Feb, and got his refund (what was left of it) direct deposited the middle of march (that was little more than a month ago). I received the money they took from his state refund 2 weeks ago- on 4/9/09. When will i receive the federal pmnt? Child support cant tell me anything- says its because its all confidential info.
Hes been behind for YEARS, and I'm excited to actually be receiving something for once!

Dear Missy: Have you called 800-829-1040? Speak to an agent but they will only answer generic questions as the return of someone else is confidential info. If this has happened to your ex before or if he knew it was about to happen he could have made sure his federal refund was very small and not much would be lost. If his refund was deposited in mid March you should have rec'd yours soon after.

No. The Republicans demanded 4 separate investigations of this claim and no factual basis was found for it. It turned out that it was another false Republican smear.
