Cord Escort My CD player and cigareete lighter dont work,no cords are unplugged or anything,What could be wrong?
By the way I have a 91 escort if that helps any. my cd player just stopped working, and cigeratte lighter hasnt been working for a couple weeks and I dont know how to fix either.
Check the fuse box. The fuses might be blown. If that's the case then replace the fuses with the same type of fuses.
To see if the fuse is blown, take out the fuse for the lighter and the cd player and look at it in the light, if the metal strip on the inside is not in tact (it will look burnt in the middle) then that means the fuse is blown. If the metal part is in tact then your fuse is not blown

Full clear description of how to hook up 2 subs to amp and to battery and cd player and all that stuff?
I have all the cords, I am new to this so please make it as simple as possible. I have a 91 escort, GM 1000 pioneer amp, and 2 pioneer subs, and sony cd player if that helps.
First I would connect the CD Player in the dash after you've removed the stock radio. Then run the RCA Cables and remote wires to the location you are going to place the amplifier.
Second, I would connect the power wire to the battery, (Do not install the fuse yet) then to the fuse block supplied if you have that. After the fuse Block you should have enough Power wire to run through the firewall and down the inside of the vehicle to the location your placing the Amplifier.
After you have the Amplifier Mounted the remote wire that you ran from the CD Player hook it up to the amplifiers remote turn on. You need to grond the amplifier to a bare metal piece of the vehicle and secure it tightly. After you have grounded the Wire to the metal connect the other end to the Amplifier. After the Remote and ground wire are connected connect the Power wire that you ran along the inside of the vehicle. After it's connected, connect the RCA cables.
Assuming that your subs are preboxed connect the speaker wire + and the speaker wire - to the speaker. After you've connected them then connect the right sub to the right Speaker output + and - on the amplifier. Do the same thing with the left side, and your subs should be connected. After everything is connected put the fuse in the fuse block that you have under the hood. you should be rolling with tunes.
