Cord WrApped
In this day and age, how does a baby die from having the cord wrapped around its neck?
Can't they prevent this now with all the monitoring and ultrasounds they do?
A friend's baby died this week from this, and it just seems to me that they should have known the baby was in trouble and been able to do something to save it.
You would think so but Im 16weeks pregnant and other than the usually tests I will only get one ultrasound at 20-21 weeks and if all looks well they wont give me another unless of course something isn't going right after then and they want to take a look. And when you go into labour and your in the hospital they hook you up to heart monitor you and your baby and can tell if theres any fetal distress. If the cord gets rap around while pushing and baby comes out feet first then there may not be enough time if the dr isn't able to tell....
I wish there was more ultrasound near the end but we also do not Truly know the side affects of ultrasounds that's why they only do it if they think its necessary

What does it mean if the baby's cord is wrapped around his neck?
I recently had an ultrasound and the doctor said it looked like the cord was wrapped around my lil guys neck...she said this was fairly normal but I'm nervous that something is wrong...I go in tonight to be induced...what does this mean?
It could deprive your child of oxygen.
