Will airport scanners damage Computer Components?
I bought some computer components in Swiss, and a friend of my is bringing them from Swiss to kosova(where I live) by airplane. I read at yahoo answers that the luggage is not treated well and computer components(processor,graphic card,motherboard,powersupplier,etc) found in luggage are very sensitive to hard vibrations and can be damaged.
Would it be better if my friend takes them in his carry-on bag, and will X-Rey scanners damage the Components, are there any metal detectors which may harm them if he takes the components in his Carry-on bag? etc.
The Computer Components that my friend is bringing by airplane are: the Processor, Graphic Card, Memory, Power Supplier and Motherboard.
May the security disallow him to take all the Components with him?
(I never traveled by airplane )

no, you'll be fine. The scanners will not damage those components. Every traveler has their computers scanned at the airport. Nothing will happen to them. It's completely up to your friend as to whether he carries them on or checks them in. Doesn't make any difference from a scanner/xray standpoing though.
