Detector Whistler Does anyone have a whistler xtr330 Radar Detector and how good it is?

I dont have a whistler xtr330, but just from experience, I'd say to stay away from them. Right now, I have a Escort 8500 X50, and I regret it; just remember to be careful... ANYWAYS, to your answer, i think you will find the www.radardetector.net forum very very helpful. Moreover, I would suggest that if you were to get a radar, to get something that is top-of-the line (this helps in a variety of ways). I'll tell you first off, if you are buying it to use on the highway, it is completely useless *cops keep their radar off on the highway and either use an instant on method or vascar or pacing. City its a bit more helpful. But even then, you would want a high end model so that you would never need to slam on your brakes. Imagine if the guy behind you went into you because you slammed on your brakes, and even worse, if it was a false. I'd be pissed if it was me, and I'm sure the same goes for you.
So to paraphrase: 1) The Whistler is not that good, and you are MUCH better off spending a bit more *also try to avoid ebay, you'll see why if you go on the forum*. 2) All I ask is that you remember that it is not a ticket to speed and will only work if the cop has his radar on.

I have a Whistler radar detector is there any way to test the unit short of going thru a radar trap?
No there is not.. only in a test centre on speed check which is not advisable..
