Why would the check engine light still be on after replacing the O2 sensor?

I have a '97 chry concorde 3.5L. I used the DRB III Scan Tool to scan my vehicle for DTC's. The scan showed 2 error codes: one for the cam position sensor and another for the 02 sensor (specifically the left side bank 2). I replaced both. I erased the DTC's and drove for about 80 mile after which the engine light came back on. Scanned vehicle again and error code for 02 sensor came up (says "stays at center"). The readings on the other three are fluctuating but the reading on the one in question does not. Could it be a shortage in the wiring somewhere?

Yes a bad connection, short or open wire could be the issue.

All the trouble codes from a code reader or scan tool does is tell you what area or circuit a problem is in.

That doesn't mean that for sure the sensor is bad that is in that circuit.

Lots of Sensors get replaced needlessly due to a broken wire, a faulty junction connection at a plug in where the sensor plugs into the harness and etc.

Even some mechanics and technicians can make this mistake.

checking the harness integrity is important however there are some precautions you should know about before proceeding.

One is DO NOT Touch you cars computer without using an anti-static ground strap to prevent your body's static electricity from damaging the computer!

The reason is for checking the harness you will need to disconnect the cars battery, then find the computer, put on a grounding strap, then unplug the harness at the computer

then test the wires in the circuits you are dealing with a continuity tester from the computer to each junction down the line until you find your problem

The DRB Class 50 is a German class of 2100 locomotive, built from 1939 as a standard locomotive for hauling goods trains. It had one leading axle and five coupled axles and was one of the most successful designs produced for the Deutsche Reichsbahn. This class was procured as part of the German Nazi partys preparations for war that led into the Second World War. Up to 1948, 3,164 Class 50 engines were built by almost all the European locomotive factories towards the end as socalled provisional war locomotives and classified as 50 K. Help with a 1997 chrysler concord, I replace the fuel pump but it not taking!?

I replace the fuel pump, and went to turn her on and nadd! Now I know this fuel pump is good, and from what I been told I might need the DRB III for 6k but no way in he@@ em I going to buy that tool. Now does anyone know any tricks to get the fuel pump to take with out this DRB III! I should not need a 6k tool to do a fuel pump then again most cars I work on are 1995 or older some times way older.

You do not need a drbIII to reprogram the computer when replacing a fuel pump. Are you SURE that your new pump is actually working? Try hooking the pump directly to a battery and see if it is working properly. Also there is a relay and possibly a fuse that could be bad.
