Dual Stalker Radar
Does elevation affect radar performance?
I was pulled over by a cop using Stalker dual radar scanner.
The facters here are a range of about a 1/4 mile.
The cop was about 100 feet above me. Traveling 60+MPH the opposite direction.
Traffic conditions were light.
This is in New York State if this makes a difference.
the angle was not 45... it was closer to 30-35 initially... when the SUV cop pulled onto the median and stopped to do what looked like a reading his car was nose down at more then 45 degrees.
Guilty as charged. No twinkies for you. I recommend you slow down. Radar is only affected by angulation and then it is typically on your side, not mine. Go pay your fine.

If a NYS trooper adds radar on his deposition?
attched to a ticket does he have to show/prove the radar reading in court? What if it there is no real radar reading? Or it is not what he claims or wrote the ticket for? The radar listed is stalker dual.
Bruce: With what you are saying they could claim any number/speed. Where is the honesty?
The officer will testify to his observations, and will testify that he checked the radar prior to the stop and it was working properly.
These checks consist of an internal check the radar does itself, and an external check done with tuning forks. As long as the radar unit passes these checks, the court will recognize the officer's observations of accurate.
