TAMBARAM(Chennai): A 22-year-old youth was trapped inside an automated teller machine (ATM) in Pammal for an hour on Monday morning. Firemen forced their way open into the kiosk to rescue the youth, who is an engineering student.

Noticed that Many unmanned or Manned(Guraded) ATMs which requires card access has emergency button inside. Some of the Manned ATMS has no automatic locking.only Keyable lock available.
Unfortunately the reported (Indian Banks ATMS) had failure in the Door lock system. Indian Bank's ATM department and security departmnt need to look this.
Also that the Banks need to educate the users how to use the ATM. Many location there is only instructions/signboards in English. Instruction in Local Language also must be displayed.
