Eobd Fault Code
Can anyone familiar with cars please help? I want to purchase a code reader for a 1999 BMW 316i Compact?
I have a BMW 316i Compact Sport 1.9L and I wish to purchase a code reader as all mechanics keep charging me £40 per hour even though it takes them 10 mins.

Can anyone confirm that it will work? It says that the cars needs to be OBD2, EOBD compliant? Any help would be appreciated.

In 1999 cars did not have to be OBD2 compliant so this is unlikely to work on your car.
OBD2 mandatory compliance came in in 2002 in Europe for petrol cars.

2001 citroen xsara hdi fault code reader?
can anyone recommend a cheap code reader and fault clearer for diy use. Is my car obd2/eobd compliant or what type of reader should I be looking for?? I'm confused.

In the USA I recommend Actron code readers which can also clear the codes. The cheapest cost is about $60 (30 pounds). You need an OBD-II compliant reader. Look for the connector somewhere under your steering column area.
