What kind of stethoscope should I buy?

I am an EMT-B in training and need to buy my own scope and BP cuff. I know there are very fancy versions of both, but as I will be in a loud ambulance most of the time, I won't be able to hear the subtle sounds offered by the high quality equipment anyway. I want a brand that is not very expensive but you have experience with and would recommend. Also, for the scope, I prefer the one tube rather than the double tube. I know the single tubes are just a conduit for 2 tubes, but the full conduit keeps the tubes from banging together and I don't want to deal with sound interference. Please only respond if you know what you are talking about.

Go with the cheap one (even if it IS the double-lumen) while you're in school. They sell BP kits that have the cuff & scope together (and it's far cheaper than separately). Unless you plan on doing first responding somewhere, you'll probably never use the BP cuff again anyway (unless you're like me & your family randomly wants you to check their blood pressure!). See if your mentors will let you try out their stethoscopes while you're doing clinicals, then figure out which one you like the best. I prefer the Litmann Master Classic II, and have miraculously kept the same one for 11 years now! I can hear better with the one-sided bell.
As the other answer said, you won't be able to hear much in the back of the truck anyway. Learn to palpate a BP!!! And I can't stress that enough! I've actually encountered some EMT students recently who have never heard of a palpated BP!

With former NHL tough guy, Todd "The Animal" Ewen,Lafayette HS (MO) Head CoachCoach Ewen explains how hockey gear has changed over the years and how that impacts today's player. Through these changes he shows the proper way to fit the gear, buy new gear and shares insider tips and tricks for hockey. He begins by discussing how to properly outfit any player with each piece of gear needed. He also includes a special section on goalie equipment. Ewen covers skate maintenance, which includes sharpening skates, breaking in new skates, skate fitting and skate balance. Additional products discussed include goaltender's neck guard, lexon protector, thigh guards, gloves (both long and short cuff), helmets, masks and sticks. Stick considerations are due to the difference in positions on the ice and should be measured and cut to the appropriate height for each player. This is an excellent overview of the equipment that hockey players are using in hockey today and how knowing and applying this knowledge can make the total hockey experience better for every player and team! 55minutes. 2007.

Why is the world so messed up?

people cant even help other people without the cops interfering. i got arrested for trying to return luggage to a man who had lost thousands of dollars in camera equipment by knocking on doors in the neighborhood this luggage was found in. Well turns out someone called the cops saying we were going door to door asking about this luggage and the lady who called it in gave the cops a license plate number that was v v well ours on the bronco is z z. To make a long story short we got held at gunpoint and put in cuffs for doing the right thing. Why is the world such a crappy place nowa days ?

Because there are bad people in the world
