Tuning a new snowboard?
Im kinda confused on how to tune up my new snowboard, or if i even need to at all. I've heard different things like the factory wax will be good enough, or its too crappy and you should have it waxed/do it yourself, and the edges should be left nice and sharp or they should be detuned. I am am probably an intermediate rider and all I do is carve really (no tricks as of yet), and i heard that if you are not a beginner, who will catch the sharp edge, then you can leave it sharp cause you can ride better. Any suggestions on what i should do. Im going up to Tahoe and im gonna be on the mountain for 2 days so i need to know if the wax and edges need tuning or not. thanks.
Look at the bottom of the board. A well waxed board will look smooth and uniform. A board that needs wax begins to take on a dried out look. Like, after riding, you will probably see the areas closest to your edges starting to take on the dried out look, having light or white streaks in the base.
Factory wax should be fine, if the board is actually waxed. Basically, if its not waxed, it will look like crap....
You might as well leave the edges sharp and see if it gives you a problem. Detuning the edges is very simple and the shop at the mountain can do it in literally 30 seconds. They probably wont even charge you for it if they are cool.
Sharp edges are great for carving, just don't try to learn rails with them or you are looking for trouble.
I have never heard of a new board coming unwaxed. You are most likely fine. Like i said, the shop can fix your edges in two seconds if you feel like you want it done.

What are the factory specifications for for my guitar's pickup height?
I own an Epiphone G-310, The pickups are "2-open Coil Humbuckers"
Well, the neck pickup fell off its place (maybe after long use) and I screwed it back on. But now it doesn't sound like it used to.
Anyways, I also want to throw in that I usually play in dropped C tuning. So how can I help it sound metal-ish, pickup-wise
I don't know about "factory specs" but the way to adjust your pickup is to put it as close to the strings as it will go without the strings hitting it when you strum hard on the highest frets.
Then if you think it's too heavy on the bass or treble, back that side off a little. Some pickups also have individual poles for each string which can be adjusted in a similar fashion.
