What causes the P0445 code On 2004 Escalade EXT apart from a loose fuel cap?
For the second, time on my 2004 Escalade EXT, I noticed that when the level in the gas tank fell slightly below the 1/4 mark, I get the "Tighten fuel cap" notification in the Driver Information Center, then shortly afterwards I get a check engine light.
When I go to fill up, it is difficult to put fuel in the tank, as there seems to be some major restriction to the flow, and the fuel tends to squirt back up (as if the tank were full), shutting off the gas station pump every couple of seconds, (even though the tank is less than 1/4 full). When I had a friend scan the OBD II port, I saw a P0455 fault code (Evaporative Emission Large System Leak) . I've checked the gas cap a thousand times and it's OK. The truck has only done about 29,600 miles. Any suggestions as to what may cause this?
What does that mean?
This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.
Causes:
A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system
Possible Solutions:
With a p0455, the most common repair is to:
Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary

helppp!! Air bag lightt...?
i have a 2004 freestar it had an accident and the air bags were blownn, i replaced them with the mudual used from the auto wreckers but the air bag light is still on..dont know why...i scanned the computer for that and it gave me a code B2922 and says restrainer fault!! can someone helpp i heard some ppl make a by pass to the restrainer but i dont know how!! soo can ne one plz tell me wht to do?? :S
Did you also replace the control switch? if it was a front impact there are usually 2 switches behind the bumper in front of the radiator support.
