EDIT 1: how many shots CAN i get from 4 AA batteries?
do not do hobbytron unless you are a big cheapskake and have no other choice. secondly, do not buy any electric pistols, b/c it drains out the battery b/c of the blowback, and even if it doesn't have blowback, low fps. not good for outdoors. you're better off by buying a co2 gun, the catridges most of the time are supplied at the site for a small fee. i suggest these websites for buying co2 pistols

pretty good, but maybe a portable radio would be a good addition, to know what is going on, if there's been a breakthrough, or to hear news about someone you might know.
also, what about a clock/watch ? something to keep the time with ?
not knowing the time in situations which require a survival kit would drive me crazy, personally.
