What would cause the dome lights and power windows to not work in a 2007 Ford Taurus?
This appears to only happen in the wee hours of the morning when it's fairly cold out. It may just be coincidence but that's the only time I see it happen. This has happened twice so far in the last couple of weeks, both cold mornings. They resume working normally later on, say after I get off work. The only thing I've checked so far are fuses, which look all good, but I'm not sure that would have ever had a problem with only intermittent issues. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a ground issue, maybe loose or corroded. Try wiggling the wires under the dash and next to the drivers side kick panel to see if it helps, the GEM module may be going bad, it is what turns all this off after a short time with the key on

The 'dome lights (with delay)' dont turn off after a few seconds in my 2002 Ford Taurus. How do I turn 'em off
they have a timer on them that goes bad,i don't know the location of it ,but a good repair manual might help you with it,for the time being,you can pull the fuse for them,it will keep them from staying on all the time,mine stay on for about 2 minutes,but when the timer goes bad ,they wont shut off,someone told me that the timer plugs in to the fuse box,i don't know though but its worth a try.good luck on it.
