I am worried about the safety of systemic flea meds for cats & dogs.?

It doesn't seem right to apply a poison that will absorb into their blood to kill fleas/ticks and biting insects that way. I've used Advantage and Frontline, but the more I think about it, the less comfortable I am about it. I love my pets and I want them with me for a LONG time! Any thoughts or advice is welcomed! (please no sarcastic/jokester answers) Thanks, in advance, for your comments/suggestions.

There are organic flea and tick remedies out there or make treats with garlic in them for fleas .http://www.cat-flea-news-collection.com/organic_flea_control.htm

Everyone likes to get where they`re going fast, and no one likes getting gouged by the airlines. In this report, FRONTLINE investigators examine whether or not value and safety are mutually exclusive by investigating the changes that occurred within the airline industry following the February 2009 crash of Continental flight 3407. Thanks to the recent proliferation of inexpensive regional carriers, flyers have more - and cheaper - options than ever before when it comes to choosing an airline. But while the airline industry remains staunch in their claims that flight is still the safest form of travel, others suggest that airlines are cutting corners in order to compete, and that the results could spell tragedy for bargain-hunting travelers.

The Safety - Trip to circus minor (Live @ Frontline, Ghent)

Using Revolution in conjunction with Frontline?

My indoor cat has fleas and I have bombed the house, given him a bath, Frontline and Capstar but they don't seem to be dying. I know fleas go in cycles but I think my cat is becoming immune to the Frontline. I heard I can use Revolution safety after I administered Frontline a week ago. The receptionist at my vet said it was ok but I'm still leary.

THE FLEA CHALLENGE

Did you know only 5% of fleas live on your dog or cat?
The remaining are in and around the home. You may be surprised to learn that only 5% of fleas are found on your dog or cat. The other 95% – eggs, larvae and pupae, the immature stages can be found in the immediate environment. Such as your home or garden. Unfortunately, this results in a constant source of re-infestation throughout the year.
Adult Fleas on the Animal

Managing flea infestations
To address a flea problem quickly and effectively in a home, both adult and immature stages of the flea need to be targeted to effectively break the flea life cycle. As an average, adult female fleas lay about 20 eggs at a time and 400 to 500 in a lifetime, there can be hundreds of fleas in immature stages in the pets' home environment.

Products that only kill adult fleas rely on killing adults as they hatch from pupae, slowly depleting the environment of the immature flea population. Eggs, larvae and pupae can be present in the carpet, in bedding and other soft furnishings, and these can be a constant source of re-infestation.
Stages in the Environment

To effectively manage a flea infestation follow these ‘Quick Tips on Flea Control’.

Quick Tips on Flea Control
Use a flea treatment that kills as many flea stages as possible.
Treat all animals in the household for fleas.
Use a treatment all year round.
Pay attention to re-infestation from contact with other animals.
Vacuum carpet, rugs, floors, skirting boards.
Vacuum lounge chairs and cushions.
Regularly clean kennel / cat basket.
Regularly wash or replace pet bedding.
Vacuum the car and wash seat covers or rugs.

It is important to remember that if an animal is already infested with fleas when the first dose of REVOLUTION is applied, that an environmental infestation of fleas may persist for a short time because of the emergence of adult fleas from existing pupae. This means that adult fleas may occasionally be seen on your pet. However, significant reductions in flea infestations are to be expected after just one treatment as flea larvae in the animal's surroundings are killed or prevented from developing to adults by treatment with REVOLUTION.

If the above tips are followed complete control can be expected after the second application of REVOLUTION . For the prevention and lasting control of flea infestations, REVOLUTION should be applied at monthly intervals throughout the year.

I would suggest that you give the company a phone call and find out from them 1800 814 883
