Gold Security Enforcement
Is my investment safe?
I've invested in the food-vendors for certain school districts. These companies became entrenched, and are often sole-source providers of mandated "healthy snack foods" on campuses.
However, recently, it's come to light that certain politicians, including (even some 8th grade class vice-President), have been involved in circumventing the Schools' enforcement of "sole-source-selling", and "zero-tolerance of junk-food". I'm afraid the company I own shares of will be in a turf-war with these kids.
The excessively lenient punishment of stripping (without due process) the VP of his office; barring him from the honors dance; and suspending him from school has me really worried about the security of my investments.
If we're going to just let these people get away with breaking our monopoly strangle-hold on childrens' food, what's next - sharing furtive sips of the odd soda?
I want to know if my investment is safe - or should I pull all my money out to buy Gold?
What you have is an investment in an unethical monopoly that just begs for government intervention.
When they fall, they're going to fall hard.
But I wouldn't invest in gold when it's at historic highs.

21B or 31B, which one?
I like both of these MOS's because they seem to be a jack of all trades and they are both OSUT in my state so I don't have to travel everywhere just for basic and AIT, except I keep hearing MP's doing less and less law type missions and focusing more on combat operations. If on the garrison side of things, I don't want to be a "security guard" with firepower, I want to actually perform law enforcement duties. On the other hand, I'm looking into the Active First program thru the Guard because I want to serve active duty and then do Green to Gold while I'm in the guard and the only appealing MOS to me from that list is 21B.
With the curennt conflicts would it be hard getting into a BCT as 21B, where else would they go?
Listen, when you go overseas you'll be on the road;
as an MP you'll be on convoy security where you will be attacked... If your in the first truck on the convoy your mine rollers WILL get blown up, and your truck WILL get hit eventually. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT YOU MIGHT RIDE IN A HUMVEE; THAT'S NEARLY A DEATH SENTENCE.
If your not on the road you'll get stuck guarding detainees in a prison camp. the most action you will see would be a prison riot.
You might get stuck performing police patrols if you get stuck in a major base... Airforce usually takes that job. You also might get stuck sitting in a guard tower in 8-12 hour shifts...
If your lucky you could get a chance to work with a Specialized Attack Dog.
As a Combat Engineer you will be on Route Clearance convoys where you will be attacked... You will have vehicles that are specifically built to look for and dig up IEDs. 89D's, EOD will be with you all the time. You will be in the front of the IED fight... a fight against enemy engineers.
You WILL get blown up eventually, your truck and your minerollers... YOU WILL NOT BE IN A HUMVEE, Route Clearance rolls in RG MRAPS or COUGAR MRAPS.
If your not on the road you might be on the ground with front line infantry. A good chance of closing with the enemy in close quarters combat.
If your lucky you might have a chance to train and work with Specialized Search Dogs; trained in explosive detection.
Your training in explosives and demolition might be used if EOD is unable to support you; but the chance of that is slim.
You have additional school you can try to get: SAPPER SCHOOL, R2C2 SAPPER; Robotics
Both MOS's offer the INTERMEDIATE SEARCH SCHOOL.
All these schools are at Fort Leonard Wood at he CEHC; Counter Explosive Hazard Center a building dedicated to SFC Paul Smith; Medal of Honor Awardee and Combat Engineer.
