What is the process?
Does it look like BP and US Coast Guard will go ahead with this large capacity ship skimmer?

I am not in that industry and am no expert, but from what I have heard it seems it sucks up the water with the oil in it and since they easily separate, the water is filtered out leaving only the oil, which can then be refined just like any other oil, taken directly from the well.
