Gun Browning High
Musicals for high school theater?
What are the names of some musicals that are appropriate for high schools to do in terms of language, content, and tech work? Like, Spring Awakening probably wouldn't be a good one, because it's...about sex. Wicked would probably not work because it requires wires so Elphaba can "fly" during the Defying Gravity scene.

Avenue Q (a bit of a push)

I'll comment on the ones on your list first, if that's ok?
Children of Eden - heavy on the religion; tough for a public school
Les Miserables - huge, huge show; very difficult to stage/act
You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown - perfect; fun, very minimal staging
Avenue Q - very good; but the principal, parents and school board will take issue with the mature content
Oklahoma! - excellent; can be done with a good backdrop and some modest set pieces to suggest locations
The Sound of Music - good, but a pale shadow of the movie; you'll be disappointed at the differences in the script and songs
The King and I - very good; lots of body makeup and opulent set makes it tough to pull off, though
Hair - not done very often; sets not a problem, but you'll have to rework the nude scene
Grease - again, notable different from the movie; can be very successful, kids will love it, need a realistic car onstage
My Fair Lady - excellent; small cast, costuming budget is large
Beauty and the Beast - unless you can rent the costumes somewhere, you need an army of talented sewing ladies; big sets too
Fiddler on the Roof - like Oklahoma, a good drop and a few suggested set pieces can make this an excellent show; long
Guys and Dolls - wonderful fun and a classic of the stage; lots of scenery, but again, can be adapted to make it workable
Annie Get Your Gun - lot of fun; new material has been added to a rather dated show, and period costumes are a bear (Native American outfits and many others)
On your list I'd highly recommend Charlie Brown if set is your biggest issue, Grease if you need to make a ton of money, and Guys and Dolls or Oklahoma if you want a fun show with outstanding music. Fiddler is a great choice if you want to challenge them dramatically, but you'll need a fantastic Tevye, and they are hard to come by in high school.

The serial number is 80278M69. It has NO scope, just the gun and it is in great condition!
