How good is it? Many people rank it in the top 10 tanks of todayI know the tank has: active laser defense system,2100-hp engine, and more,155 mm gun capable of firing next-generation missiles,kinetic rounds,improved aiming system,a digital battlefield information terminal, a newly designed arrow-shaped armor, a larger turret, an expanded tail chamber, an Active Protection System mounted on the turret with millimeter-wave radar, a new commander's periscope and an Integrated Propulsion System etc. How does it compare with other tanks such as Leopard 2 or M1 Abrams? If the witness (officer) can't make my court date, should I change my court date for my speeding ticket?
One of the witnesses (obviously the state trooper) can't make my court date for a speeding ticket that I am protesting. What happens if I say I don't want to reschedule the date? Will they throw it out? Will they just use the radar reading as evidence with an absentee witness? Would a defense of "it wasn't my car that got radar gunned" work in this situation? Could I offer to plead to a lesser charge over the phone? What is the best procedure I can use for getting out of my 80 in a 65? Is this an opportunity for me? I live in Illinois and the State Trooper can't make my court date. Solid answers only please instead of wild speculation. Thanks!
If you know he cannot make it - DO NOT CHANGE IT!
If the officer (the only witness against you) cannot come to court, there is no evidence and the ticket must be dismissed.
Edit: "Rock Firestorm" is incorrect. While some states' laws may allow the Court to reschedule, in at least 2 states the officer's failure to appear is an absolute dismissal on almost every type of citation. In my County and State, I have seen an estimated average of 20% of cases dismissed on this ground, and in one Court, I saw 30 of 40 defendants have their citation dismissed (not my client's, but oh well). In a neighboring County, however, officers are motivated by pay cuts to make their appearances - thus no-shows are far more rare. I don't know your state specifically, but I still suggest NOT consenting to a rescheduling of your trial date.
